Schimmel

The son of a master tailor from Bohemia, Wilhelm Schimmel started building pianos in the Saxony village of Neu-Schoenefeld near Leipzig in the year 1885. By 1897 his business had expanded to allow him to build his own factory in Leipzig. Located now in Braunschweig the Schimmel piano factory is today the largest piano maker in Germany.

Wilhelm Schimmel W180

The Wilhelm Schimmel W180 is a beautifully designed small studio grand. The W180 has a noticeably deeper tone than many other grands of its size. A powerful and resonant bass modulates into a mellow tenor section, which is framed by a sweet sounding treble. Time honoured piano building skills are applied with equal measures of precision, patience and passion to produce an instrument of enduring value. From Schumann to Chopin, from Fats Waller to the Beatles, whatever your tastes you will love the singing tones and stylish lines of this classic model.

Schimmel have specialised in building grand pianos in a range of furniture designs from the classical to the modern.
